ALSNS Review - Seven Everyday Sling

My Seven Everyday Sling (back)
Seven Everyday Sling (front)
Loving the Seven Sling!!
I would have never called my babies "sling riding babes". Since birth the twins have always been carried in wraps or carriers with buckles. I was never interested in using a sling. My husband used one with our daughter a few times. I always thought that it would just be too hard on my back. A number of friends have told me more times than I can remember: " Britni, you need to try a sling, they are so easy and you'll love it" But...after 12 months I still had not given slings a try.

I was thrilled to review a Seven Everyday Slings carrier! Finally, I was going to see what I really thought. When I got my Seven Everyday Sling in the mail, I ripped open the package and quickly put it on and grabbed Gabbi. I was actually shocked at how comfortable it was, not because I didn't think it would be, I just didn't know what to expect. The Seven Everyday Slings use beautiful fabric, with just enough stretch! I love it! I used my Seven Everyday Sling while decorating for Christmas today. Gabbi was 100% comfortable and so was I, and I even felt like she was totally secure when I was slightly bending over. There was no back or shoulder pain, which is a huge plus for me. Now I'm proud to say that I am in love with my Seven Sling and I have 2 "Sling Riding Babies"!!!
We are both so happy with our Seven Everyday Sling!

Cut from a different cloth", our bold and unique fabrics are perfect for moms that don’t want typical gear.
97% Cotton 3% Lycra - making it comfortable to wear for both you and your baby- not losing shape over time.
Infants to toddlers (35 lbs or less). Machine washable.
Making moms around the world even hotter with every purchase!

When purchasing a Seven Everyday Sling be sure to measure correctly by using their sizing guide. I made the mistake of assuming that I knew what size I was without using the guide...and...yep you guessed it, I had to exchange it.

Seven Everyday Sling has 7 awesome prints to choose from. They are all bright and beautiful...and picking just one can be hard:)

The Seven Sling can be worn many different ways from birth to 35 pounds!

*This review is 100% my personal opinion. I was not persuaded by Seven Everyday Slings to write any part of my review. Seven Everyday Slings ONLY provided a Carrier for me to review, the article/review was written solely by me!

A Babywearing Black Friday...

Black Friday and Babywearing!
Getting up early and going shopping on Black Friday is our favorite start to the Holiday season, Elias even loves it! This year we decided that we were going to get up at 6am and leisurely get ready and go to 3 stores. We'll that all changed...Simon was WIDE awake at 3:45 so I got up with him, by 4:45 Gabbi and Elias had joined us. We decided to just get ready and headed out armed with a ERGObaby and a hiking backpack! The twins had so much fun!

My husband carried Simon in the backpack.
What a awesome Daddy my boys have!!!

I carried Gab on the front in the ERGO

Gabbi loves shopping with her Mama!

She loves her ERGO too!

We were stopped many times by people saying 'what a good Idea to use babycarriers' The twins happily waved and said hi to almost everyone they saw because they felt safe being so close. Gabbi even feel asleep. I am pleased to say that this Black Friday was fantastic. We got everything we set out to get, waited in lines no longer than 15minutes, drank Starbucks Peppermint Mocha's and ended the night having dinner with wonderful friends!! The only bummer was out of ALL the people, I saw many upset babies in their strollers, and only 1 young women with her baby in a Moby wrap. I hoped to see more babywearing mama's and papa's...maybe next year!

Yes! I am still Breastfeeding

I'm a breastfeeding mama of Twins and proud of it!!

There I was, visiting with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. While chatting on the couch one of the twins came up very sleepy, ready for a nap and wanted to nurse. I paused our conversation to grab a cover and get my little one situated. When I looked back up, my friend was wide eyed staring at me. I had seen that look before...the "Oh My Gosh she is STILL breastfeeding" I'm used to it, I was still breastfeeding Elias until after age 3. So, that look and me aren't exactly strangers. "What" I asked. She just looked at me a moment longer and choked out "You are Still breastfeeding?" I wanted to say "CLEARLY"...but I didn't;) I calmly responded "Yep I sure am" Thinking this conversation was over, I jumped back into what we had been talking about...only to be interrupted by this little gem "Do you breastfeeding both of them or just one?" Ok little side note: You might be surprised how often I get asked this question, and I ALWAYS respond with a smile "yes I breastfeed both of my twins" Even though on the inside I'm thinking...'Yeah, why would I only breastfeed one, that is ridiculous that you would even ask such a stupid question'. Back to my friend. I responded "yes I do, blah, blah, blah" I could see her getting more uncomfortable with every word. VERY quickly after I was done talking, wouldn't you know that she suddenly remember she was 'late' for 'something'. Hmm...really?!

Why is it so hard for 'OTHERS' that we breastfeed? This is very troubling to me. A mom can send her 12 year old daughter to school in a outfit that is shocking: no one says a word -a child can be heard yelling and cussing at their parent in the store: no on says a word- But WE quietly cover, or sneak away, words are spoken to us, and lots of them...not always nice either. Celebrities without children are openly giving there negative opinion. Because of this women who breastfeed feel like they aren't allowed to nursing in public, and if they do they had better be out of site or covered with a black fleece blanket from head to toe. I can just imagine the out burst said celeb would have had if she saw me tandem nursing my twin babies. I ask it again, why is this so true in our society? I don't have a answer. I have my opinions...People seem to want to have a opinion because they don't have control of their lives or because they are unhappy, maybe they are uncomfortable about breastfeeding in general...I don't know it could be so many different things. All I know is that I refuse to let ANYONE make me feel like I am doing something wrong because I have made the choice to breastfeed MY children. I love my children, I want to breastfeed and frankly if 'sally next door' is bothered by that, then she has a problem of her own. I will stand my ground and I hope you do too! I hate talking to a young mom who says she really wanted to breastfeed, but she didn't have any support. Us nursing mom's need to stick together and share our stories and tips with other mom's especially new 1st time mama's. So here's a challenge: We all have a friend, who is breastfeeding her baby or young child, right. She might be searching for someone to talk to...Toss a little encouragement her way!! Tell her that you are there for her. You will be thrilled with how it makes her feel and how it makes you feel. I know, because I did this recently with a women who goes to my church, it was so wonderful to see her sad face turn to joy! She later told me that she was about ready to give up, and was so happy I spoke up!

Be Happy Breastfeeding - I know I am and that's what matters!

Review - ERGObaby

ERGObaby Carrier

from ERGObaby:
Products to make babywearing safe, easy and comfortable – a Hands Free System with an all-in-one baby carrier that can be used in the front, back and hip position, infant to toddler

Babywearing is a part of our life...

I'm a babywearing Mama, my husband is a babywearing Daddy. We have been since our twins were born. It a few local stores we are known as the 'babywearing family'! We love it and wouldn't have it any other way. We started out wearing the twins in wraps. They were wonderful and comfortable. However, like babies tend to do, the twins got bigger, and bigger thus making our wraps no longer the most comfortable option. We knew that it was time to add something new! The twins LOVE to be carried on the front, they love to be close and hate riding in a stroller, so we knew we need to find the right carrier...and NOW! We tried everything, but nothing seemed to be right, everything we tried worked ok on the back, but the twins didn't like being on the back all the time, so if we switched to the front it was just...not the right fit for us and our life style. My husband complained about back pain and so did I. We couldn't help but think this was the 'babywearing end'. Then much to our surprise and joy a wonderful ray of light enter our is called ERGObaby!!

What I received...

A Fantastic Green ERGObaby Organic Carrier to review! It is beautiful!

When it arrived I ripped open the box, quickly put it on, added Gabbi, and my Husband took this photo: We had owned it for less than 5 minutes but I was in love!! :)

About ERGObaby Carriers...

ERGObaby Carrier-

"Using the ERGObaby carrier gives you continuous connection, fabulous feeling of freedom, and security knowing your baby is safe.

This is the all-in-one soft baby carrier, assisting you through all the stages of your baby's growth and moving from front to hip to back position easily.

Parents tell us the ERGObaby carrier is the best of all the baby carriers on the market. It was designed by Karin Frost and has undergone extensive testing by tens of thousands of parents. Its innovative design makes wearing your baby comfortable for hours at a time, gives you the freedom to remain active and productive in your daily life, and holds your baby secure to your body so you are HandsFree.

ERGObaby’s baby carrier design supports a natural sitting position for babies, eliminating compression of the spine and hips that can be caused by unsupported suspension. The baby carrier also balances the baby's weight to parents' hips and shoulders, and alleviates physical stress for the parent."

ERGObaby Organic-
"Our Certified 100% Organic cotton is grown, processed and manufactured in compliance with Organic Fiber Processing Standards, utilizing natural agricultural methodology without the application of toxic chemicals. The emphasis is to avoid negative impact on surrounding eco-systems. Many minds and hands around the world contributed to the manufacture of the ERGObaby Organic product,... all in the spirit of preserving our planet and advancing fair labor practices.

The benefit to the consumer, especially to our babies, is the softness and quality that only Organic cotton can provide. This is one of the top reasons people choose Organic cotton for their delicate baby's skin. You are personally contributing to the shift in awareness for strong environmental responsibility by supporting the farmers, fabric mills, artisans, sewing factories and retailers of this Organic cotton product.

We want to emphasize that ERGObaby is committed to environmental awareness, fair labor, and quality craftsmanship. We are pleased to be a part of your Organic Lifestyle."

My personal thoughts...

ERGObaby is wonderful! Amazingly comfortable on the back and even more comfy on the front!! The padding is wonderful, the buckles are strong and sturdy! When I first saw all the buckles I thought to my self ' this isn't going to be quick and easy to put on, when I have a screaming little one' - Ok, I was TOTALLY and completely wrong. I can get it on and buckles by my self faster than ANY other carrier I have ever used! When front carring the back buckle is easy to reach and straps are very easy to loosen to tighten! Putting the baby in the back carring position is something I have always been nervous about doing on my own. With ERGObaby it is a breeze!! When out and about there is no shoulder or back fatigue because the straps are wide and very padded. The waste strap is comfy as well. No lower back pain! This is a very big deal to me personally. My lower back has become very easily fatigued since the twins were born, due to a half dozen spinal tap attempts. With the ERGObaby, I barely even notice that I have on the carrier. Most Importantly, the twins both LOVE it, they are able to snuggle up close to a pain free Mommy and Daddy!

In my personal opinion this is the best carrier I have used! I would recommend ERGObaby to ANYONE searching for a carrier! I almost can't believe that we have made it this far without a ERGO!

Undercover Mama REVIEW

Are you a Undercover Mama?? If you are not, you will want to be!!

I was so excited to be able to test one of these amazing undershirts!!

Undercover Mama is a strapless undershirt that hooks to your favorite nursing bra, thus making any nursing bra a nursing tank!! The Undercover Mama is awesome it made nursing the twins amazingly quick and easy! At church no one even knew I was nursing. It's slim fitting style made layering shirts a breeze. The Undercover Mama is so trim, there is no bunching or rolling, it was as if I didn't even have it on. The long length is fantastic! I didn't have to worry about bending over in public! It kept everything covered!

The Undercover Mama is easier than you might think! Simply pull the shirt on like you would any other tank or undershirt. Since there are not any straps, all you do is make sure the shirt is straight and simple slide the hook that is attached to the Undercover Mama right below the nursing snap on your bra. (Most bras have a little fold of fabric that the hook slides into perfectly) Now you are ready to go!

Watch a Undercover Mama video!

When I first put on my new Black Undercover Mama, I was thrilled with the fit! It is so slim fitting, not bulky at all! The fabric is wonderful, soft and sturdy!! I looked in the mirror and I could believe it but I actually felt pretty in something that was made for nursing!! I love that I can hook the Undercover Mama to any of my nursing bras, throw on a sweater and go! The Undercover Mama looks like your favorite tank, but has the hidden bonus of being your favorite nursing bra as well.

From Undercover Mama:

Most moms can't wait to return to their regular wardrobe after having a baby. However, trying to nurse in a regular shirt can be awkward and more revealing than a new mom likes.

With Undercover Mama, you can keep your back, sides and belly covered while nursing in your regular clothes! Just attach it to the flap of your favorite nursing bra and wear your regular shirts over top. You will look and feel like you are wearing a regular cami! The generous length allows you to tuck it in or go for a layered look. The black color adds a natural slimming effect!

The Undercover Mama is my new favorite item in my closet. For the last week it is all I have worn. So, I have washed it quite a few times. Each time I amazed. No piling, fading, it has maintained it shape better than any tank both nursing and non-nursing I have ever owned.

My advice to you....GET A UNDERCOVER MAMA TODAY!!

I truly believe that the Undercover Mama is A MUST HAVE for all nursing moms!! That is why I will be getting all the other colors as well!
