Super Shots Review

SUPER SHOTS...what pop into your mind?

Honestly my first reaction was the thought of those energy drink in the tiny little Barbie size bottles.

When I heard I would be doing a review on Super Shots for this month's Gabby Moms mission, I have to admit I was very curious!

But still what is Super Shots?

Super Shots are actually something amazing and oh so useful!

The Encouraging Mom Super Shots is a huge dose of well...encouragement, tips, ideas, and God's Love! I guess they are like little energy drinks…but for your heart, mind and relationships!

The new program:

The Encouraging Mom is a new membership program from Eternal Encouragement that offers a monthly Super Shot - each month’s Super Shot has a theme and contains four products in a number of formats (eBooks, audio downloads and Chick Flicks). Each product is guaranteed to be New and Fresh and it's only $7.97 per month for 4 total products a month!

This new program is coming soon at EternalEncouragment.com

I was so excited to get review Super Shots: Whinning - Winning the Whinning War!

I just want to give a little summery...

A few years ago I would have never thought I needed this...but...now at 6, I SO do! My Son has started using whinning to get his way in all aspects. It DRIVES ME CRAZY! Whinning to me is worse than Cars with Bass, Squealing Breaks, Nails on a Chalk Board and Neighbors that have parties in the Middle of the night all rolled into one.

The Tips that are jam packed in to this Super Shot are wonderful! Lorrie knew exactly what she was talking about! After just a few days using Lorrie's tips the Whinning had nearly stopped! My Husband couldn't wait to read this Super Shot as well! Now, we have this happy little face...

...Mommy and Daddy are happy too!!!

Bling Highlights Review

Featuring:

Sick boring winter hair? Want a change? How about adding a little bling...Bling Highlights!

What are Bling Highlights hair tensil? It simply a strand of colorful tensil you tie in your hair! It's so easy that you'll never want to get your hair colored or highlights again!! When tied in hair correctly Bling Highlights can remain in hair for weeks. Bling Highlights are easy to remove, so you can change your highlight color anytime!

Bling Highlights come in 43 colors and two lenghts: Short - 19 inch strands of tensil each tube contains 20 strands. Long - 38 inch strands of tensil each tube contains 20 strands.

The prices are great!! $4.95 for a tube (20 strands) of Short & $9.45 for a tube (20 strands) of long! Free shipping for orders over $30

I was so excited the morning I saw my mail carrier walking up to my house with the huge poster tube the Bling Highlight are delivered in! Bling Highlights let me choose my color of choice: GOLD! I thought that Gold would stand out and look really beautiful in my very dark hair...it did!

The day after my Bling Highlight came was my husbands birthday and we were going to spend the whole day out and about. The morning of his birthday I got up at 5am while everyone else was sleeping...I needs some 'me' time!! I decided to put a bunch of Bling Highlights in my hair.

You can check out the how to put Bling Highlight in your hair HERE!

I'll be honest the first strand was a little tricky to put in, I redid it (with the same piece of tensil twice) But, after a few times I was a pro! I put 8 highlights in, since you tie them in folded in half I had 16 beautiful sparkly Gold highlights. It was very easy to add the tensil to my bangs, I cut one long strand in half to make two shorter strands. Once they were tied in my bangs I trimmed them to the right lenght...Easy! But, the best part!! They can been washed, dried, flat ironed, and curled...up to I believe 400 degrees!!

After getting my family all ready, we headed out for my husbands special day. We decided to head to our local mall to the Barnes and Noble. As soon as we stepped into the first store...I kid you not with in 2 seconds we heard " HEY!! How'd you do that to your hair??" I was a older woman, she wanted to touch them, know how I got them in my hair, where she could buy them. Over the next few hours random women, teens and tweens asked about my Bling Highlights. 100% of them wanted to know where to buy! The next day when I was out shopping a women asked were I got them done, because her daughter had just got them done and payed a ton of money and they didn't stay. After telling her how Bling Highlights work she was ready to order!

It has now been 3 weeks, my Bling Highlights are still perfectly in place, and I am daily getting stopped multiple times...Grandmothers, young women, teens, tween and little girls...even men ask!

I'm sure you will be shocked to know that I will be placing a Bling Highlights order...I only have Gold. I think I am going to get: blue, purple, pink, and green...wait there are 43 colors...soooo ummm, I want 42 other colors!!

I think that Bling Highlight would be a great for ages 1 - 100! It would be really fun to have a girls Bling Highlight party, birthday party or just for fun!

Review - Belvedere Designs

Featuring:
More than a decade ago my husband and I didn't have kids, and always said "We will NEVER have a Mini Van!" Well...hmmmm fast-forward 10 years and here we are with three kids and surprise surprise and a Mini Van!! When we first go our Town and Country, I kept thinking 'there is something missing' We wanted to make our Mini Van ours...but how??

Have you ever been at a stop light or pulled into a parking spot only to see the car in front of you has stick figure stickers of their family on the back window? I've always thought they were just so cute! It's fun to see how families vary...Daddy, Mommy, and 1 kid, Daddy Mommy and 7 kids, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a fish, or even Daddy, Mommy and 3 dogs:)

To tell you the truth we never got the stickers because although cute, the stick figure family is just not us. Along came Belvedere Designs...

Belvedere Designs specializes in Custom Wall Letters, Vinyl Words & Wall Quotes, Family Stickers, Wall Art, Graphic Design and More!

I was given the opportunity to Review Belvedere Designs car decals! I choose the "FOOTPRINTS" The Stickers came of a vinyl backing to you can place them on your car straight and easily! I was VERY surprised how quickly the footprints were shipped and arrived.

The Sticker were all printed on one long sheet. Then gently rolled for shipping. When they arrived all I had to do was reactivate them (when you get your order you get step by step directions) Because they were print in order of size and on one sheet, it only took about 4 minutes to: Clean and Dry the window, Peel the backing off the stickers, place the stickers where we wanted and rub them on to insure they were sticking all the way, last peel the transfer paper off, and there they are beautiful, straight and perfect...Our family!

Belvedere Designs quality is amazing! The stickers are beautiful and sturdy. I noticed when I put them on the car that the are made out of a nice thick vinyl, not the thin stuff that I have seen that easily tears! The Footprints have only been on our window for a short time, but they have already had to with stand a lot! Hot beaming sun, snow and Rain almost daily. I am pleased that there is ZERO curling or peeling of the stickers. Absolutely NO bubbling either!!

Belvedere Designs share specials and sale pricing on their Facebook Page! They run a monthly photo contest that allows one lucky fan to win a $50.00 gift certificate! Just submit a photo of your wall quote to be entered. It's just that easy! If you want to stay up on their latest and greatest ideas you should check out Belvedere Designs Blog too. It's full of great ideas!

Big Thank You to Belvedere Designs! I can't tell you how impressed we are! I can’t wait to place a order for some special quotes for my children’s rooms!!

Book Review - Thank You, God, for Mommy

Thank You, God, For Mommy

Padded Board Book
By Amy Parker

Mommies do so much for us! It’s time to thank God for the blessing they are. In this adorable board book, a little panda thanks God for his wonderful mommy—a mommy who gives hugs and cuddles, who takes great care of him, and most importantly, who offers love and guidance for her precious panda cub.
The love and sacrifices of mothers everywhere will be celebrated by mother and child as they snuggle up together and say Thank You, God, for Mommy.

My review...

I got this book a few days after my birthday! I love it so much and so do my kids! The Panda Bear illustrations are precious...I love Pandas! My six year old son was so excited to read this book, he wanted to sit in my lap and cuddle while we read it, which I totally love...what mommy wouldn't. Although it is a short little picture book, it is powerful and very sweet and moving! The beginning of each page starts with "Thank you, God, for Mommy..." and has a adorable illustration to go with each page.

Thank You, God, for Mommy,

And lullabies so sweet—

The beating of her great, big heart

Sings me right to sleep.

I would highly recommend this for every family! It is a perfect book to share with you little ones. Share your love for them and God's beautiful love as well!

Feel the Music - Join the Party!

Soooooo, I have been less then thrilled with my current body since having the twins, and now it is time to kick my butt into gear, and stop making excuses!

My Personal Zumba 90 day Challenge...

I have both the option of taking a 1 hour class taught by a awesome friend and I have the Zumba Total Body Transformation System that my husband and I use at home

I will be attending up to 3 classes (1 hour) a week

In addition to my Classes I will be doing 4 additional 20 minute Zumba workouts on my DVD's that focus on things like Abs and Legs.

On top of my Zumba, I will be focusing on eating good food in the right way

Since had twins I will be very focused on my midsection...I was nearly 58 inches around at 38 weeks with the babies and I want that GONE!

The Abs routine I love it and used after I has Elias! All you need is a stability ball!

Since it is a 90 day challenge, I know the weather will be getting nice before I know it so at least once a week we will be going on our favorite 4 mile hike.

Once a week on Mondays I will be posting a photo of my progress, my weight loss, my weekly goals, personal energy gain, Zumba youtube videos, my favorite Zumba workout gear, new favorite dishes.

Not Familiar with Zumba? Check out this video interview with Zumba creator Beto!!

Wanna join my Challenge? It doesn't have to be Zumba, it can be what ever you like, Yoga, Paliates, spinning, running...what ever you want! If you decide to join in with me leave me a comment after each weekly post with a link to your progress! If you don't want to, you can always leave me a encouraging comment!!! :)

Book Review - Love Food and Live Well...

From the Publisher...

Go ahead. Get passionate about the food you eat. You donrs"t have to hide it. You can love food and lose weight at the same time! The secret, which yours"ll learn about inLove Food andLive Well,is to know when to have carrot cake and when itrs"s time for just a carrot. For most dieters, food is the daunting factor that trips up our best intentions to lose weight and get fit. Let Chantel Hobbs teach you that food is not the enemy! Itrs"s our attitudes toward it that defeat us. Losing weightdoes notrequire being deprived of the foods you love and being forced to eat boring, tasteless meals, and left feeling hungry most of the time

My Review...

To be totally honest I didn't know who Chantel Hobbs was when I requested this book to review! I picked this book for the mere fact that it is something that I am intersted in. When my older son was 18months old I lost 80 pounds in 4 months, My husband and I had a system of how we ate, how we excercised...everything. 4 months after my 80lbs loss mark we sold our house, moved to a new neighborhood, and winter came. After this we just couldn't get back into the groove. Now my twins are 18months old and 'we' all need a change!

I now know that Chantel Hobbs has two previous books out on the topic of how she managed to lose over two hundred pounds and not only lose it but keep it off. And now in LOVE FOOD & LIVE WELL she shares some advice that she learned from a super thin woman she met at the gym. Moderation.

But that's not all that Chantel teaches us. Chantel shows us that food is not the enemy. It is our attitudes toward it that sabotages us. She teaches us when we can have carrot cake and when it is simply time to have a carrot.

You can turn food into an ally by following Chantel's 80/20 rule. 20% of the time spludge on the foods you love. The remaining 80% choose food on the basis of delivering maximum fuel for your body and health. In this way, she teaches us self-discipline.

LOVE FOOD & LIVE WELL includes personal inventories, original recipes, food plans, and detailed exercises. This book is a beneficial guide to anyone who wants to lose weight and keep it off. I read this book once for review, now I plan to go back and study it for my own personal use.

I would recommend this book to someone who is maybe at a loss, or having a hard time getting motivated!

Hardcover: 240 pages Publisher: WaterBrook Press; 1 edition (December 14, 2010) Language: English ISBN-10: 0307457842 ISBN-13: 978-0307457844

The Gabby Mom’s Question of the Week - March 7-11 2011!

Opened to anyone living in the US or Canada is welcome to enter (not just Gabby Moms) All of our March winners will receive a $5 Gift Card to Starbucks! Enter HERE!

This week’s question is:

What is the number one thing you do to refresh yourself, your kids and your homeschool mid-year?

My answer...
We homeschool through the year so we 'refresh' twice a year on average. Once right around now, when it seems like winter is going to last forever, and we are stuck inside. Something special that I like to do is have my 6 year old pick out a few new activity books! This past weekend we did just that. Elias was so excited! I have noticed over the last few months that he has a deep love for science, nature, and weather. So it was no surprise to when he chose WEATHER LAB and SCIENCE LAB from Silver Dolphin books! These books have 50 projects each and are TONS of fun!

Another Refresh time for us is summer, which is perfect because it always hits us right around our summer vacation. Last year we when to Glacier National park. He was able to learn about bears, deer, moose, mountains, water life and nature! He was able to see a Black bear up close, and see how big they really are. He got to see and touch the vast span of the mountains that God created. We were even able to play in the snow in the middle of July!! This year we are off to the Oregon Coast! We will be able to learn about sea life while playing at the beach! There is nothing more fun then learning while you play!

Other than these we often have a nature hike every few weeks during nice weather to keep things fun. In the winter, something as simple as the local childrens museum can refresh us!

Head over to The Gabby Mom's and join in the fun!

Review - SafetyTat

Featuring:

As long as I can remember I have always heard the "Wal-Mart" story. Since we were a family of 12 my mom would always do grocery shopping on Sunday after church. Being the youngest I would always go with her. One particular Sunday my mom turned her back for a minute and I wondered off to the toy department. When I realized mommy wasn't with me I started to panic and search for her, trying to remember where she was. Two old women recognized me as "Dale's granddaughter" and took me to find my mom. This was nearly 30 years ago, times have drastically changed.

Now, that I have my own children, I often think about 'wal-mart' when we are shopping. I never turn my back and always have at least one hand on the stroller or cart. I think about how easily the "Wal-Mart" story could have had a horrible ending. We hear it all the time on the news, parent turned their back for a minute and now there child is gone forever. As parents all we want to do is protect are children, from infants to teens.
SafetyTat go on very easy and stay great!

My older son (6) is going to play soccer this year, which brings in whole new dynamic, he won't be with me every moment, but that is part of growing up, right? SafetyTat is there to ease my mind.
Rockin a awesome SafetyTat

Read the SafetyTat story HERE!

SafetyTat is a fun and colorful kids temporary safety tattoo. When applied to the arm of your child or loved one, SafetyTat provides a highly visible form of identification that stays in place even when wet!
SafetyTat sent me a sample kit of the original,

with our cell phone number printed right on it. The pack includes tats for both boys and girls, we also got a sample pack of the 'write on' tats as well.

In addition to these options there is also a section on their website where you can custom build your own: TatBuilder, so you want pink and butterflies? Blue and turtles? You can build it!
Elias (6) thinks SafetyTat's are awesome! When we go to the mall or when we are at church we put a SafetyTat on Elias...just in case. This summer we are going to the coast and I will have SafetyTat packed guaranteed!! All three children will be sporting a SafetyTat on the beach!

Peekaru Review!

My family loves - I mean really LOVES spending time outside! We live in a beautiful area full of trails, lakes, mountains, so we pretty much can do what ever we want!! It's great, our older son rides his bike and we carry the twins in carriers...ergo, mei tai, backpack.

Last year, the twins were newborns, so when we wanted to go on a winter walk it was not problem. We would cuddle them close in our Moby wraps and then zip up a coat or sweatshirt over the Moby and they would sleep the whole time! This winter...we that a different story. Their legs hang down and can get easily cold. Boooo! So, sadly we have not been our normal outdoorsy family. Which I hate.

I was thrilled when I found a new product! Have you heard out TogetherBe's Peekaru? The peekaru is a fleece vest that Mommy or Daddy can easily put on over a baby carrier! There is a baby head hole so the baby can stay totally warm and snuggled, but still able to look around! A must with toddlers.

I jumped at the opportunity to do a product review for TogetherBe!

My Peekaru came to me on one of the coldest days...it was about -18 degrees that morning...ugh.

TogetherBe sent me a beautiful Navy Blue Peekaru...and both my husband and I love it!

The twins stay warm, we get to be outside no matter how cold it is..yay win win!!

Athough, there is a very nice side zipper, I found it to be easier to pull it over my head!

I am wearing Gabbi in a ERGO under my peekaru! It fits perfect! I was VERY cold and she was as warm as could be!!

Pros...

Extremely soft and cozy

nice long length, and easily covers my toddlers feet

Unisex style, my husband and I can both wear it

After a few washes it is still just as soft as day 1, that isn't always the case with fleece.

The style makes it so it can be used if you are front caring or back caring

Cons...

Sizing is a little off. I got a large, and it is actually quite big.

When caring on the back, it is a little tight on the trout. I prefer the front carry.

That's about it!

So all in all, If you have a family that like to spend time outside all seasons! The peekaru is truly a must have! You'll love it!

Book Review - Hermie & Friends: A Bug Collection DVD Box Set

Hermie & Friends: A Bug Collection DVD Box Set
Some grumpy bees, silly ladybugs and a non-praying mantis . . . all from the best-loved Max Lucado's Hermie & Friends® series!

Buzby and the Grumblebees—it’s about bee-having.

Haily & Bailey's Silly Fight—it’s about getting along.

Milo, the Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray—it's about prayer.

Enjoy the voice talents of Tim Conway, Melissa Disney, Richard Kind, and Sam Mercurio at their very best in this one-of-a-kind box set.

A Bug Collection, Hermie & Friends, 3 Complete DVDs. Including: Buzby and the Grumblebees—it’s about bee-having. Haily & Bailey's Silly Fight—it’s about getting along. and Milo, the Mantis Who Wouldn't Pray—it's about prayer. The DVD's are great way for young children to learn about prayer, good behavior, and getting along with others. These three DVDs are set up using an outstanding lesson plan as a model.

What's not to love? Bright, Fun and colorful characters, the fact that they are worms, bees, ladybugs and other insects is a HUGE plus in our home, coupled with biblical teaching, and Max Lucado's story telling, make this series of Hermie and Friends an excellent choice for kids of all ages, my 6 years old thoroughly enjoyed them. During Haily & Bailey's Silly Fight, I could hear him interacting with the fighting sisters. At one point they tell Hermie, "We're sister's, We don't fight" to that my son responded "Brothers and sisters fight, but that doesn't mean they don't love each other."

Hermie & Friends: A Bug Collection DVD Box Set is wonderful choice for a family to enjoy together and then talk about afterwards. Even the twins (18 months) enjoyed the set. They like dancing to the songs!

I would definitely recommend these to family and friends!

* Please note that I was given this book by the Publisher in exchange for a honest review. This review is 100% my own. Want to review book on your blog? Visit BookSneeze and find out how!
